Instant Pot Flan: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe for 6 Servings

  • Author: Lauren Baker
  • Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

– 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
– 6 large eggs
– 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
– 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 tablespoon water (for caramel)

Instructions

Creating Instant Pot Flan can be straightforward if you follow these simple steps:

1. Prepare the Caramel: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then stop stirring and let it cook until it turns a golden brown color. This should take about 8-10 minutes.
2. Pour Caramel: Quickly pour the caramel into a round 7-inch cake pan or silicone mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Be careful, as the caramel will be very hot.
3. Blend the Custard: In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth and well combined.
4. Pour Custard Over Caramel: Carefully pour the custard mixture over the hardened caramel in the cake pan.
5. Prepare Instant Pot: Add 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot. Place a trivet inside the pot and set the cake pan on top of the trivet.
6. Pressure Cook: Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for 30 minutes. After cooking, allow for natural pressure release for about 10-15 minutes, then carefully release any remaining pressure.
7. Cool the Flan: Once the pin drops, carefully open the lid. Allow the flan to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
8. Unmold the Flan: To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it. Invert it onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel sauce to drizzle over the top.

These steps will guide you in creating this incredible dessert effortlessly.
