Instructions
- Combine warm milk and sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle yeast and let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and yeast mixture. Mix to form a sticky dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled.
- Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness and cut into 2-inch squares. Let rise on parchment for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry dough squares in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
- Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar while warm.
