  • Yield: 2 sandwiches

Description

This Turkey Melt with Cheddar, Spinach, and Bacon is the ultimate comfort food. Featuring melty white cheddar, crispy bacon, tender turkey, and fresh spinach, all sandwiched between golden-brown sourdough bread, it’s a quick and satisfying meal for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • Sourdough Bread: 4 slices
  • Honey Mustard: 2 tablespoons
  • White Cheddar Cheese: 2 slices, halved
  • Deli Turkey: 4 slices
  • Tomato: 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Fresh Baby Spinach: ½ cup
  • Cooked Bacon: 4 strips
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons, softened

Instructions

  • Lay out 4 slices of sourdough bread. Spread ½ tablespoon of honey mustard on one side of each slice.
  • Place half a slice of cheddar cheese on each bread slice. On two slices, layer turkey, tomato, spinach, and bacon. Top with remaining bread slices, cheese side down.
  • Spread ½ tablespoon of softened butter on the outside of each bread slice.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Remove, slice in half if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute arugula for spinach for a peppery kick.
  • Add avocado for extra creaminess.
  • Use gluten-free bread for a gluten-free option.
