Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust (or use store-bought):

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup ice-cold water

For the Filling:

  • 6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (Cheddar, Swiss, or Mozzarella)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups half-and-half or whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Chopped chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust:

    • Combine flour and salt in a large bowl.
    • Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Add ice water gradually and mix until dough forms.
    • Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
    • Roll out the dough and fit into a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Cook turkey bacon until crispy, then crumble.
    • Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Assemble the Quiche:

    • Sprinkle cheese and bacon evenly over the crust.
    • Pour egg mixture over the top.
  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and set.
    • Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
  5. Garnish and Serve:

    • Sprinkle with chopped chives or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer quiche, use heavy cream instead of half-and-half.
  • To add veggies, sauté them beforehand to avoid excess moisture.
  • To make it crustless, grease your pie dish well and pour the filling directly into it.
