For the Chicken:

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup cornstarch or all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Honey Pepper Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

For Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Extra black pepper or red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Coat the Chicken: Dip each piece into the beaten eggs, then coat with cornstarch or flour.
  • Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a pan and fry chicken until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  • Make the Sauce: In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic, and lemon juice. Simmer, then thicken with the cornstarch mixture.
  • Toss & Serve: Coat the crispy chicken in the honey-pepper sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-fry the chicken.
