Description

This Sweet Chili Chicken is crispy, sticky, and packed with bold flavors. Tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce, this dish is better than takeout and easy to make in just 30 minutes. Serve over rice, noodles, or in lettuce wraps for a quick and delicious meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Toss chicken pieces in cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and cook chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, mix honey, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and lime juice. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce.
  • Return chicken to the pan and coat in the sauce.
  • Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by adding or reducing red pepper flakes.
  • For extra crispiness, fry the chicken twice.
  • Best served immediately to maintain crisp texture.
