Ingredients
- Unsalted Butter: 1/3 cup, melted
- Whole Milk: 3/4 cup
- Vanilla Extract: 2 teaspoons
- Granulated Sugar: 1 1/2 cups
- All-Purpose Flour: 1 1/2 cups
- Baking Powder: 2 1/4 teaspoons
- Salt: 3/4 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon: 2 teaspoons
- Brown Sugar: 1 1/2 cups, packed
- Hot Water: 1 1/2 cups
- Topping – Granulated Sugar: 1/4 cup
- Topping – Ground Cinnamon: 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with melted butter.
- In a bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla, and granulated sugar. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the batter and pour hot water evenly on top (don’t stir).
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center is gooey.
- Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon for the topping and sprinkle over the cobbler immediately after baking.
Notes
- Avoid overmixing the batter for a tender cobbler.
- The cobbler is best served warm but can be reheated in the oven.
