Ingredients

  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup butter (melted)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb cooked breakfast sausage (crumbled)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (for spice)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (for flavor)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions (for freshness)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease or line a muffin tin.
  • Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  • Mix wet ingredients (eggs, milk, butter) in a large bowl.
  • Whisk dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in a separate bowl.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients gently, then fold in sausage and cheese.
  • Fill muffin cups ¾ full and bake for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or store for later!
