Description

A juicy, slow-cooked pulled beef sandwich that’s tender, flavorful, and easy to make. Perfect for a comforting meal or feeding a crowd.


Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 6 sandwich buns (brioche, ciabatta, or hoagie rolls)
  • Pickles, coleslaw, crispy fried onions (optional)
  • BBQ sauce or horseradish mayo

Instructions

  1. Season & Sear the Beef: Rub the roast with salt, pepper, and seasonings. Sear in hot oil for 2-3 minutes per side.
  2. Prepare the Cooking Liquid: Place onions and garlic in a slow cooker. Add the beef, broth, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard.
  3. Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours until fork-tender.
  4. Shred the Beef: Remove the beef, shred with forks, and mix it back into the sauce.
  5. Assemble Sandwiches: Toast the buns, pile on the beef, and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of apple cider vinegar to the sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
