Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (optional)
  • Fresh parsley & lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Season & Sear the Salmon – Pat the salmon dry, season, and sear in olive oil for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté Garlic & Orzo – In the same pan, melt butter, add garlic and lemon zest, then toast the orzo for 1-2 minutes.
  • Cook the Orzo – Pour in broth, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Make It Creamy – Stir in Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and spinach. Cook until creamy.
  • Combine & Serve – Nestle the salmon back into the orzo and heat through for 2 minutes. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices.

Notes

  • Adjust the creaminess by adding more broth if needed.
  • For extra crispiness, broil the salmon for 2 minutes before serving.
