This one-pan lemon orzo with salmon is a quick and delicious meal made with creamy Parmesan orzo, fresh spinach, and perfectly seared salmon. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s perfect for weeknights and special occasions alike.

- 4 salmon fillets
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup fresh spinach (optional)
- Fresh parsley & lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season & Sear the Salmon – Pat the salmon dry, season, and sear in olive oil for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic & Orzo – In the same pan, melt butter, add garlic and lemon zest, then toast the orzo for 1-2 minutes.
- Cook the Orzo – Pour in broth, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Make It Creamy – Stir in Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and spinach. Cook until creamy.
- Combine & Serve – Nestle the salmon back into the orzo and heat through for 2 minutes. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices.
Notes
- Adjust the creaminess by adding more broth if needed.
- For extra crispiness, broil the salmon for 2 minutes before serving.
