Description

This old-fashioned goulash is a comforting one-pot meal made with ground beef, pasta, and a rich tomato-based sauce. It’s easy to prepare, packed with flavor, and perfect for busy weeknights or meal prepping.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 (15-oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (14.5-oz) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 ½ tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Cook macaroni until slightly underdone; drain and set aside.
  • In a large pot, brown ground beef and onions over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
  • Add garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and seasonings. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Stir in cooked macaroni and cheddar cheese until melted.
  • Serve hot with fresh parsley or extra cheese.

Notes

For extra flavor, add smoked paprika or red pepper flakes. For a healthier version, use whole wheat pasta or ground turkey.
