Description

These Mozzarella Bites are bite-sized cheesy delights, with a crunchy golden crust and gooey, melty mozzarella inside. Quick to make and perfect for parties, they pair beautifully with marinara sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup neutral oil for frying
  • Two (16-ounce) containers of bocconcini (mini mozzarella balls)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1½ cups breadcrumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, warmed (for dipping)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pot over medium heat until it reaches 360–370°F.
  • Drain bocconcini and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Coat each mozzarella ball in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Repeat for double coating if desired.
  • Fry breaded mozzarella balls in small batches for 2–3 minutes until golden.
  • Drain on a paper towel-lined plate, sprinkle with salt, garnish with parsley, and serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure the mozzarella balls are completely dry to prevent oil splattering.
  • Double coat for extra crunch.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain the oil temperature for even frying.
