  • 2 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • ½ tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, onion, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  • Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef, stirring to coat. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
  • Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
