- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce (plus extra for drizzling)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in hot fudge sauce, creating swirls. Stir in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with extra hot fudge before serving.

- For extra richness, use Dutch-process cocoa.
- Slightly underbake for a fudgier texture.
