Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1 large egg, room temperature

  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 12 tbsp milk (to soften the dough)

Toppings:

  • Various colors of sanding sugar

  • 32 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beating until combined.

  • Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until just combined. Add milk until dough is soft enough to roll.

  • Roll dough into balls, coat with sanding sugar, and place on prepared baking sheets.

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, until cookies are puffed and edges are just set.

  • Let cookies cool for 2 minutes, then press a Hershey’s Kiss into each cookie’s center.

  • Allow cookies to cool for 5 more minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before rolling helps prevent spreading.

  • Use different Hershey’s Kisses flavors for fun variations.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
