Description
This Garlic Butter Parmesan Pasta is a creamy, cheesy, and comforting dish made with just a few pantry staples. It’s quick, easy, and bursting with flavor — perfect for weeknights when you need a satisfying meal fast.
Ingredients
-
8 oz dried pasta (spaghetti, penne, fusilli, etc.)
-
4 tbsp butter, divided
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus more for serving)
-
Salt & ground black pepper, to taste
-
Chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
-
Cook pasta al dente according to package instructions. Reserve ¾ cup of pasta water, then drain.
-
In a skillet over low heat, melt 3 tbsp butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (1–2 minutes), without browning.
-
Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss with tongs to coat in the garlic butter.
-
Stir in Parmesan cheese gradually. Add reserved pasta water one spoonful at a time, tossing until the sauce is glossy.
-
Add the remaining 1 tbsp of butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Serve immediately with extra Parmesan and parsley, if desired.
Notes
-
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the creamiest texture.
-
Do not rinse the pasta after draining — starch helps the sauce stick.
-
Customize with red pepper flakes, lemon zest, or sautéed vegetables.
-
Best served fresh, but leftovers store well.
