Description

Soft, buttery sugar cookies topped with creamy, tangy cream cheese frosting and fresh, colorful fruits. Perfect for parties, holidays, or a special treat!

For the Sugar Cookies:

  • 1 cup salted butter, cut into cubes

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 whole egg

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, at room temperature

  • 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

  • 1 lb powdered sugar (approx. 3 3/4 cups)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Topping:

  • Fresh fruit: berries, kiwi, banana, mandarin oranges, grapes, peaches, etc.


Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.

  • Prepare Dough: Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix well. Gradually add flour and baking powder until a dough forms.

  • Shape & Chill: Roll dough into 3-tbsp balls and flatten slightly. Chill for 5 minutes before baking.

  • Bake: Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely.

  • Make Frosting: Beat butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

  • Frost & Decorate: Spread frosting over cooled cookies. Decorate with fresh fruits and chill before serving.

Notes

  • Store decorated cookies in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Freeze undecorated cookies for up to 2 months.

  • Customize toppings with your favorite fruits.
