- ⅛ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare an 8-inch round cake pan by greasing it and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
- Stir in the sugar, espresso powder (if using), and vanilla extract.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
- Fold in the cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, using a toothpick to check for doneness.
- Cool for 10 minutes, invert onto a plate, and refrigerate for 1–2 hours before serving.
