- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 5 slices bread (white or whole wheat)
- ¾ cup chopped onion
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅓ cup ketchup (optional, for topping)
- 3 strips turkey or beef bacon (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Soak bread in evaporated milk for 5 minutes, then mash.
- Add chopped onion, salt, and black pepper to the bread mixture.
- Mix in ground beef until just combined.
- Shape into a loaf and place in a greased baking dish.
- Spread ketchup on top (if using) and lay bacon strips over the loaf.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
