  • Author: Lauren Baker
  • Total Time: 40-45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken is ultra-crispy, baked instead of fried, and coated with a sweet and spicy honey glaze. It’s quick, easy, and packed with flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
For the Chicken:
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or vegetable oil
For the Hot Honey Glaze:
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and place a wire rack on a baking sheet. Lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  • Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and crushed cornflakes mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Coat each chicken breast in flour, then dip into eggs, and finally press into the cornflake mixture.
  • Place the coated chicken on the prepared wire rack, ensuring they are not touching.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • While baking, mix honey, hot sauce, melted butter, and apple cider vinegar for the glaze.
  • Once the chicken is done, immediately brush with the hot honey glaze.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes and serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double-coat the chicken by repeating the egg and cornflake step.
  • Adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the hot sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
