Description

These Crispy Cheesy Salami Bites are the perfect appetizer or snack! Thin slices of salami are coated with a crunchy, cheesy breadcrumb mixture, then baked or air-fried to golden perfection. Perfect for game days, parties, or a quick family snack that’s full of bold flavor and satisfying texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 slices of salami (about 1 lb)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Cooking oil spray or light olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pat the salami slices dry with a paper towel.
  • Set up three bowls for the coating process:
    • Bowl 1: Mix flour, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
    • Bowl 2: Beat the eggs until smooth.
    • Bowl 3: Combine breadcrumbs with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Coat each salami slice: Dip in flour, then egg, then roll in the breadcrumb-cheese mixture.
  • Place coated slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each slice.
  • Lightly spray with cooking oil. Bake for 12-15 minutes or air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, marinara, or spicy mayo.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs.
  • To add a spicy kick, mix red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper into the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
