- 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 12 ounces penne or rotini pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For the Topping:
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook pasta al dente, drain, and set aside.
- Spread pasta in the baking dish, layer with shredded chicken, and pour marinara sauce over the top. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the dish.
- In a small bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, melted butter, and oregano. Sprinkle over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
