Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye, New York strip, or filet mignon steaks
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Let steaks sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Pat dry and season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  • Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add butter, garlic, and fresh herbs. Baste the steaks with melted butter for 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve hot with extra Cajun butter drizzled on top.
