Description

A refreshing, color-changing mocktail made with butterfly pea flower tea, fresh mint, and lime juice. It’s naturally caffeine-free, hydrating, and fun to make. Perfect for summer days, brunches, and special gatherings.


Ingredients

For the Tea Base (8 servings):

  • 2 Tbsp dried butterfly pea flowers (or 4 tea bags)

  • 2 Tbsp fresh mint leaves (or 2 mint tea bags)

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 4 cups boiling water

  • 4 cups ice

For Each Mocktail:

  • 4 oz chilled blue tea

  • 2 Tbsp fresh lime juice (≈1 oz)

  • Lime wheels and fresh mint for garnish


Instructions

  • Steep butterfly pea flowers, mint, and sugar in 4 cups of boiling water for 5 minutes.

  • Strain over a pitcher of ice to chill.

  • Store tea base in the fridge for up to 72 hours.

  • To serve, pour 4 oz chilled tea into a glass with ice.

  • Slowly add lime juice over the back of a spoon for a layered effect.

  • Garnish with lime wheel and mint. Stir to enjoy the color change.

Notes

  • Do not pre-mix lime juice into the tea base.

  • Use fresh lime for best color and flavor.

  • For a fizzy twist, top with sparkling water.
