For the Donuts:
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • ⅓ cup (65g) packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (60ml) milk (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup (60g) yogurt or sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Maple Glaze:
  • 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup (80ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup (112g) sifted confectioners’ sugar
  • ¼ tsp maple extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (to taste)

Instructions

Prepare the Donuts:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a donut pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, egg, brown sugar, milk, yogurt, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and fill donut cavities halfway.
2. Bake the Donuts:
  1. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until lightly golden.
  2. Let donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
3. Make the Maple Glaze:
  1. Melt butter and maple syrup in a small saucepan over low heat.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in confectioners’ sugar, maple extract, and salt.
  3. Let glaze cool slightly before dipping.
4. Dip & Serve:
  1. Dip each donut into the warm maple glaze, then set on the wire rack.
  2. Double-dip for a thicker glaze, if desired.
