For the Fritter Bites:

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1½ cups finely diced Honeycrisp or Gala apples
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

For the Apple Cider Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ⅓ cup + 2 tablespoons apple cider or apple juice

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare Batter: Whisk melted butter and sugar. Add egg and applesauce, stirring until smooth. Combine dry ingredients in another bowl, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients. Fold in diced apples.
  • Bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of batter onto the prepared sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare Glaze: While baking, whisk powdered sugar and apple cider until smooth.
  • Glaze and Broil: Brush baked bites with glaze and broil on high for 2–4 minutes until caramelized. Brush with remaining glaze.
  • Cool and Serve: Let cool for 15 minutes to set the glaze. Enjoy warm!
